Know Your Numbers! Week, an annual initiative by Blood Pressure UK, is taking place from 2-8 September.

The focus for 2024 is home monitoring and the key message is the 'power is in your hands' to check your blood pressure to see if it's under control.

Dr Paula Cowan, GP and NHS North West Regional Medical Director for Primary Care said: "The early detection of high blood pressure gives people a better chance of preventing a stroke or heart attack, and potentially developing long term health problems. Knowing your numbers could help you manage potential risks and save your life."

Hundreds of organisations, including hospitals and health centres, have previously set up pressure stations to mark Know Your Numbers! Week.
