Dr Staveley joins from NHS England, where she was associate medical director.

She has also previously been interim chief medical officer for Northamptonshire ICB and was deputy chair of Warwickshire North CCG, as well as previously holding positions at The Healthy London Partnership, Outcomes Based Healthcare, Camden CCG and UCL Partners. This in addition to practicing as a GP for over a decade, including at various practices in North Warwickshire and Rugby.

Dr Staveley replaces the outgoing chief medical officer, Dr Angela Brady, who has been with the ICB since its inception in July 2022.

Dr Staveley said: ‘As someone who lives and works as a GP locally, I'm passionate about delivering better health and care services for the people of Coventry and Warwickshire and I'm excited at the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our local communities.

‘I recognise that I'm joining the ICB at a time where there are many challenges facing the NHS and there is expected to be significant changes in how we deliver services. However, I also believe that these changes can offer exciting opportunities for us to improve the way services are delivered, improve health outcomes, reduce health inequalities and make people feel more involved in the care they receive.'

Phil Johns, chief executive at NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB, added: ‘I'm pleased that we've been able to appoint someone who has extensive experience in clinical leadership and commissioning organisations, and who has a strong working knowledge of Coventry and Warwickshire. I'm confident Imogen will make a positive impact on the ICB and the wider health and care system.

‘I'd also like to thank Dr Angela Brady for her hard work and dedication throughout the time she has been with the ICB. She has provided excellent leadership during a challenging time for the NHS and I wish her well on the next stage of her career.'
