Frimley Integrated Care System said the plans in Reform Road had been dropped due to ‘particularly acute inflationary pressures in construction and rising interest rates'.

The development was part of the Sustainability & Transformation Plan capital bids submitted by the East Berkshire CCGs before the pandemic but were dropped after the failure to secure third-party funding.

The ICB said: ‘The ICB, in common with other publicly funded bodies, had to re-prioritise its resource to what was deliverable, within the bounds of financial constraints, considering the areas of greatest service pressure.'

Frimley Integrated Care System said it was delivering more appointments in primary care than ever before, with 84% of appointments being delivered on the same or next day, and 90% within 14 days in July, which places the system amongst the top performers nationally.

The ICB said it was also leading on a range of innovations to get the most from the available capacity, including pharmacy first, patient group segmentation and remote monitoring to identify those most in need and use new technologies to ensure they get the care they need, and modernising general practice.

‘Integrated care remains at the heart of everything we do,' the body said.
