Oxford University Hospitals tackles bullying and harassment

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) has publicised its plan to tackle bullying and harassment among staff.

The trust has put several measures in place to support staff, including a 'Respectful Resolution' programme, to enable earlier and more informal resolution to situations where people are experiencing bullying or disrespectful behaviour, rather than immediately initiating more formal procedures.

Terry Roberts, chief people officer at OUH, said: ‘Eradicating bullying and harassment at OUH is an absolute priority for us. Our People Plan states that together we make OUH a great place to work where we all feel we belong, and bullying and harassment has no place in this.

‘Everyone in our organisation has the right to work in a safe, respectful culture, free of abuse, harassment, bullying, or other inappropriate behaviour.'

Professor Meghana Pandit, chief executive at OUH, added: ‘We know that addressing an issue like bullying and harassment is very important, and we would like every single one of our colleagues to feel safe and able to raise issues, and know that these will be taken seriously and addressed in utmost confidence.

'Together we are committed to supporting our colleagues in a way that helps everyone involved to be heard.'
