Sussex trust selects new chief executive

Jayne Black, currently chief executive of Medway NHS Foundation Trust, has been appointed as chief executive of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Since joining Medway NHS Foundation Trust four years ago, Black has overseen a number of improvements in performance, developing the trust's improvement delivery system Patient First, and driving changes to patient care through new pathways, a clinical strategy, and restructuring divisions.

Black has also led improvements to urgent and emergency care through the Medway and Swale Health and Care Partnership and is senior responsible officer for the Kent and Medway Acute Provider Collaborative.

Medway NHS Foundation Trust chair, John Goulston, said: ‘Jayne has been a highly effective and popular leader, bringing colleagues together to focus on improvements to patient care.'
