Funding for Isle of Wight NHS Trust's CDC at St Mary's Hospital, Newport, was approved in October 2022 by the DHSC and NHS England as part of its Investing in Our Future programme.

The CDC is designed to support St Mary's, the Isle of Wight's only hospital, with many patients having to travel across the Solent for treatment at Southampton or Portsmouth hospitals.

The CDC will provide additional tests within cardiac physiology, respiratory physiology and sleep studies, rheumatology, imaging, urology, endoscopy and gynaecology.
