House of Commons appoints Health and Social Care Committee

The House of Commons has formally appointed the membership of the Health and Social Care Committee.

Party seat allocations across and within committees are proportionate to the number of MPs elected to the House of Commons at the General Election, with the precise number negotiated between the party whips through the Committee of Selection.  

Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee, Layla Moran MP, told HM: ‘We have a great bunch of MPs joining us on the Health and Social Care Committee, a number of whom have got a background in the sector.

‘From social care to dentistry, and waiting lists to the workforce crisis, it has never been more pressing to find common ground across the political spectrum and I look forward to running a committee that champions the voice of patients and front-line health and social care staff.'

 

 Moran was elected unopposed as chair of the Health and Social Care Committee in September.
