Chancellor Rachel Reeves has been urged to exempt social care from a hike in National Insurance Contributions (NICs) in the Spring Statement.
The Liberal Democrats warned corridor care is becoming ‘normalised’ in the NHS as they revealed a record of 518,000 ‘trolley waits’ of 12 hours or more in 2024.
The Liberal Democrats have written to the health secretary to call on the Government to use any changes to the fiscal rules in the Autumn Budget to be used to complete the New Hospital Programme.
Helen Morgan has been appointed Liberal Democrat spokesperson for health and social care following a frontbench revamp by leader Ed Davey.
