The Tees Valley Community Diagnostic Centre in Stockton will be run by University Hospitals Tees – formed of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with the estates facilities managed by NTH Solutions LLP.

Simon Milburn, clinical director for radiology at South Tees Hospitals, said: ‘What you're looking at is the biggest investment in my lifetime in diagnostics on Teesside which is going to offer more tests closer to home in a nice environment.

‘The building has two floors, where you can get investigations for your lungs and heart and have your blood tests done.

‘We will also have an assortment of MRI scanners, CT scanners, ultrasound and plain film.

‘It is going to be a good place to come to get all the tests that you need.'

Delivering tests for cancer, heart and lung disease, the site will provide a number of diagnostic functions including MRI scans, CT scans, ultrasound scans, cardiology, x-rays, blood tests and respiratory checks.

The site will be based at The Stockton Waterfront as part of a wider transformation of the high street led by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
